| Important things to know about ordering live blue crabs:
1.) Our live crab policy: Live crab orders are packed with the freshest and liveliest crabs caught the day that they are shipped. Live crabs, however, are extremely perishable and may die during shipping. If at all possible, we recommend ordering steamed crabs. Live crabs that die during shipping are not guaranteed with a money-back refund. We will include extra crabs with the order to help compensate for normal death loss. If you receive a greater than 15% mortality rate, you may qualify for a store credit to be used with a future order. If you suspect a high death rate, do not discard the crabs and please call us within 24 hours of receipt. Be sure to get a count of both live crabs and dead crabs. If the crabs show any movement whatsoever or are bubbling from the mouth, they are alive and are good to cook and eat. By purchasing live hard crabs, you submit that you have read this policy and understand all inherited risks.
2.) Live crabs are shipped UPS Next Day Air service. Live crabs may also be shipped using UPS Next-Day Ground where available.
3.) Orders of more than 1 bushel of hard crabs must be placed in separate orders. Applicable shipping charges will be applied to each order.
