Crisfield Crab Casserole
  • 1/2 cup pimiento
  • 2 large green pepper (chopped)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1 can cream of celery or mushroom soup
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • dash of pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 to 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
Combine pimiento, green pepper, onion, celery and crab meat. Add soup, mayonnaise and seasoning to crab mixture. Combine crumbs and butter; mix 1/2 cup bread crumbs into crab mixture. Place in baking dish; cover with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove from oven. Garnish with mushrooms; bake for 15 minutes longer. Serves 8.
