Crab Meat Almond

A crab meat, mushroom and almond crab casserole recipe

Credited to Edwin Lambden of Georgetown, DE.

This recipe tied for Fourth Place in the Junior Division in the 1972 National Hard Crab Derby in Crisfield, MD.

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • whole almonds
  • 3 tablespoons chopped almonds
  • 1 minced onion
  • 3 tablespoons bread crumbs
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 egg
  • dash of red pepper
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of mustard
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup grated cheese

Mix all the ingredients together except the whole almonds and the grated cheese.

Put the mixture in a baking dish. Cover the top with the cheese and place the almonds around the sides.

Bake one half hour or until brown at 350 degrees.
